AT&T Continues Boca Raton Upgrades

News

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Continuing its massive upgrades in Boca Raton, AT&T today announced enhancements to towers and coverage in the area.
According to AT&T:

Local AT&T* customers are expected to experience improved mobile Internet performance as a result of network capacity upgrades in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The network enhancements are a part of continued investment and innovation by the company in South Florida.
The capacity upgrades involved adding new layers of frequency, also known as “carriers,” to some 50 cell sites. The additional capacity makes it possible for the sites to accommodate more traffic, which helps improve the performance of mobile Internet data and voice connectivity.
The areas benefiting from the upgrades include Doral, Virginia Gardens, Sweetwater, Tamiami, Gladeview, Miami, Brownville, and Perrine in Miami-Dade County; Davie, Cooper City, Plantation and Pompano Beach in Broward County; and Boca Raton, Loxahatchee and Palm Beach Gardens in Palm Beach County.
“We’re working to build a 4G network that’s smarter and better to provide our South Florida customers with a superior mobile Internet experience,” said Marshall Criser, lll, AT&T Florida president. “These recent capacity upgrades are an example of one way we’re accomplishing that goal.”
AT&T’s innovation and investment has resulted in the nation’s largest 4G network, covering 275 million people with ultra-fast speeds and a more consistent user experience. That’s coverage in 3,000 more 4G cities and towns than Verizon.**
