Palm Beach County Needs School Bus Drivers

BOCA RATON, FL ( — Maybe those investments didn’t work out. Maybe your company was recently shipped overseas. Maybe the promises by your best friend — a guy by the name of Madoff — ended up falling short. Whatever your story, there may be opportunity with the Palm Beach County School District. The PBSD is looking for bus drivers — and a job fair is set for Thursday, July 26th, from 8a until 2p.

According to the school district, you need to be a safe, licensed driver for five years, have a great driving record, pass the DOT physical examination, pass the bus driver training course, communicate effectively in English, and enjoy working with students.

Perhaps incredibly, you do not need to have a CDL (Commercial Driving License) to apply. The school district says it will train you, for free.

(Nothing brings a sense of calm to parents and area drivers more than knowing that bus drivers on the roads in August have never driven a bus before).
