BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — 23-year-old Jessica Damaris Diaz of Deerfield Beach died early Thursday morning when police say her 1995 Toyota Corolla crashed head-on into a concrete light pole near the intersection of St. Andrews Blvd. and Verde Trail South.

Boca Raton Police say the car traveled into the grass covered shoulder on the east side of St. Andrews, just before the intersection.

Diaz died at the scene.

Diaz, according to Palm Beach County records, was arrested in February of 2010 by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on the charge of battery. The case was closed with no sentence.

She was also cited for speeding in May of 2008 and again in April of 2009.

Anyone who may have seen the accident — or has additional information — is asked to call Boca Raton Traffic Homicide Investigator Chris Somers at 561-620-6141.
