Rob Lopicola Stays In Jail, Bond Reduction Denied

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A request to lower bond for former WPTV Channel 5 weatherman Rob Lopicola was denied this morning, according to reporters in the courtroom.

Lopicola is being held on $130,000 bond on charges that he engaged in unlawful sexual contact with minors — at least two young men who were 15 and 17 at the time.

Prosecutors allege that Lopicola, who is 42, performed oral sex on a 15 year old in Boca Raton.

Lopicola’s mother, according to a reporter, told the judge that her family could not afford bail. The judge, however, refused to lower the amount.

Lopicola has been in custody since his arrest in early July.
