BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A Lake Worth man was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail after allegedly stealing a golf cart from Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

According to investigators, 51-year-old Robert Montel took the golf cart from the hospital and drove it half a mile away — just a short hop from the Whole Foods across from FAU.

Police responded, pulled the golf cart over, and arrested Montel, charging him with Grand Theft Auto. Police then took him back to the hospital — in a real car — where he was checked out by medical staffers who declared him fit for a stint in lockup.

Montel remains in jail as of Monday afternoon, according to county records. No bond has been set.
