BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — In an event that seems right out of the television show “Southland,” a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy was directing traffic at the intersection of U.S. 441 and Boca Wood Lane — right in front of West Boca Medical Center. That's when the deputy heard a noise — looked to his south — and allegedly saw Milena Cortes banging on the door of another vehicle.

She was also, police say, yelling at the driver.

The deputy ordered Cortes back into her car several times — but she refused to comply with the order.

When the deputy approached, Cortes — according to a police report — pushed him away with both hands.

Cortes was given a notice to appear in court. She ultimately got back into her car.

Since when does a physical assault on a police officer not result in an arrest?
