BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Continuing a trend of busted Boca Raton Realtors, Boca Raton police have charged Stephanie Fleishman, 40, of Sabal Lake Drive in Boca with DUI.
Fleishman, who is listed as a Boca-based Realtor Associate with Howard Chase Realty on South Beach, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail just after midnight Saturday morning. She was released on her own recognizance several hours later.
According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, written by her arresting officer, Fleishman was disoriented and had no idea she was driving on two flat tires as she attempted to make it home to West Boca from the town of Palm Beach.
“I conducted a traffic stop at 2500 West Yamato Road on a 2009 4dr black BMW for driving on flat tires. Prior to the traffic stop, I first heard a loud scraping sound and then observed the BMW traveling west in the left straight lane at approximately 2000 West Yamato Road with two flat tires. The vehicle was swerving within the lane. I made contact with a white femal driver who was later identified as Stephanie Fleishman by her Florida Drivers License.
I identified myself as a Boca Raton police officer and advised Fleishman the reason for the stop. Fleishman appeared confused and did not believe me that both left tires were flat. Fleishman said she heard a loud noise coming from her vehicle but she did not know the reason for teh noise. Fleishman said she thought she could make it home to West Boca before seeing where the noise was coming from. I saw that the vehicle’s right side mirror was broken and the glass was falling out. When I asked Fleishman about the mirror she stated that she realized it was broken about five minutes before the stop. Please note that Fleishman drove from the City of Palm Beach to Boca Raton before noticing that the mirror was broken. Fleishman continued to say that she would have known the mirror was broken if she did it.
While talking to Fleishman, I could see that her eyes were glossy. I asked Fleishman where she was coming from and she stated from having dinner with friends. I asked her if she had any alcoholic beverages during dinner. She stated that she had a few drinks about one hour ago. Fleishman then began to talk about the broken side mirror. She stated that she was on her cellular phone trying to contact the restaurant in order to talk to the valet guy. Fleishman explained that she was looking down at her cellular phone and may have hit a curb while she was not paying attention to the roadway. Fleishman could not advise where she hit a curb or how long she was driving with two flat tires. Fleishman stated she was upset over the broken mirror because last year unknown subject dented the left rear door of the BMW. Based on my observation, I suspected that Fleishman was possibly driving while impaired.”
It is the policy of BocaNewsNow.com to identify the profession of arrestees who are licensed by the State of Florida and interact with the public as a part of their profession. An arrest is only an accusation. Guilt or innocence is determined in a court of law.
Guys.. This is kind of rotten. I get what this women did is wrong, and she is paying for it. If she had done this multiple times or something, I maybe get reporting on it, but why add to it. She still needs to make a living and you make it that much tougher for her to get her life together.
Licensed by the State of Florida. Could conceivably be driving clients to look at homes. Public record. But innocent until proven guilty.
Driving when intoxicated is inexcusable, against the law and no different than firing a gun towards a crowd. She should pay a heavy price and the statistics show that this likely the 100th time she has driven in this state. I don’t think she can be trusted as there are plenty of easy options to prevent this. Take RedCap, a cab, a friend, or don’t drink. I am sure this was avoidable.
