BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A gun hidden by a tree in Boca Raton was stolen by someone looking for a gun by a tree.

We can’t make this stuff up.

According to Boca Raton Police, officers responded to 354 Kingsbridge Street when a report was filed about a stolen handgun. Police tell us that the victim had apparently left an unloaded 9mm handgun with an empty clip and 20 rounds in a sack by a tree in front of his house.

We’re still not making this up.

The homeowner then — leaving the gun in the bag by the tree — went to another house a few blocks away. When he came back, the gun was gone.

It’s unclear why the homeowner opted to leave a gun with ammunition in a bag in front of his house. We suspect the police are asking the same question.

So far, no answers.
