DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A 90-year-old Delray Beach woman driving a 2012 Toyota critically injured a 78-year-old woman who was walking across three lanes of traffic in the area of 5800 West Atlantic Avenue.

Neysha Rinehouse was rushed to Delray Medical Center. Next of kin, according to PBSO, has been notified of the accident.

Shirley Epstein, born in 1923, was not injured in the crash. Police say the right front of Epstein’s Toyota struck the left side of Rinehouse, throwing her up onto the hood of the car.

Investigators say that Rinehouse was “not within an intersection or crosswalk when she attempted to cross the roadway.”

No charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
