FAU Names Exec Board For Alumni Association

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The Florida Atlantic University Alumni Association (FAUAA) Board recently announced its 2014-15 executive committee. Former Vice Chair Benjamin Dickinson ’04 is the Board’s new chair, taking over for Jorge Cabrera Jr. ’98, who served as 2013-14 chair. Former secretary Tiffany Weimar ’07 will serve as vice chair. Pablo Paez ’03, ’08 and Danielle Leitch ’93 join the executive committee as treasurer and secretary, respectively.
Dickinson is director of talent management for Cross Country Home Services, a warranty and home management company based in Sunrise, Fla. He has more than 10 years of experience in strategic human resources planning, has volunteered extensively with the Sigma Phi Epsilon national fraternity, and is a member of FAU’s Parliament of OWLs honorary leadership society. Dickinson has served on the FAUAA board since 2008 and previously held the positions of chair of the communications and membership committees.
“I’m extremely excited for the year ahead with the FAUAA and the bright future we are creating for the Alumni Association,” said Dickinson. “We are committed to focusing our resources on driving new membership of our alumni base, establishing mutually beneficial corporate partnerships with local businesses, and creating a value proposition for our current members that will make them want to participate, stay involved and assist the Alumni Association moving forward. 2014-15 will be a big year for FAU!”
The board also welcomed two new members, noted for their civic service and professional accomplishments.
Mark Kattoura ’01, ’03, Ph.D. ’13, is an adjunct professor in the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies at FAU. He is a member of FAU’s Parliament of OWLs honorary leadership society and a lifetime member of the FAU Alumni Association. Kattoura has volunteered his time as vice chair of public relations for SunFest and on the golf fundraising committee at Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach. He is a resident of Palm Beach Gardens.
Patricia Kneski ’08 is vice president of marketing for Kip Hunter Marketing, a full-service brand marketing, advertising, public relations, social media and special events firm in Fort Lauderdale. She plays an integral role in the strategic planning, design and execution of all client initiatives. Kneski is involved with several nonprofit organizations including JDRF Greater Palm Beach, United Way of Broward County’s MISSION UNITED, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County and Emerge Broward.
