BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The Palm Beach County School District confirmed Monday afternoon that Audrey Lacey, charged with DUI over the weekend, is a teacher at Addison Mizner Elementary School.

BocaNewsNow.com first reported on the teacher’s arrest on Saturday.

Lacey, according to district policy, has 48 hours to “self-report” her arrest to school officials. It is unclear if that has happened as of close of business Monday. A DUI charge does not result in automatic removal from teaching duties, according to the school district.

A police report states that Lacey, 45, refused to provide a breath sample to the Boca Raton Police. She was allegedly involved in a crash in the area of 2499 West Glades Road. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and released on her own recognizance after several hours. Refusal to submit a breath sample or blood alcohol test, per Florida law, results in a one year suspension of the driving privilege.

She is set for arraignment on November 3rd
