West Boca Body Identified, Unclear If Connected To Mysterious Accident

police tapeBOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The body found by a boater several days ago in West Boca Raton has been identified as Vilelio Gerson Vasquez-Portillo, a 22 year old from Miami Gardens.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office this morning isn’t saying whether Vasquez-Portillo’s death is related to a motorcycle found on April 25th, leading to the following press release:

Deputies recovered a vehicle that appeared to be involved in a hit and run collision with a motorcycle or scooter.  NO victim found.  The victim may have had red hair and serious head injuries.  No other description is known.  Investigators have reached out to all hospitals in the area, Broward and Palm Beach County.  No one with this description has sought treatment.

Vasquez-Portillo’s body was found on or about May 3rd in a canal in South County Regional Park. The motorcycle accident is believed to have occurred in the same region of West Boca on or about April 25th.
