New Details In Weekend Fatal Car Crash

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The fatal car crash that killed a man Saturday night appears to be the result of a medical emergency.

From Broward Sheriff’s Office:

An elderly man was killed in a single car crash Saturday night in Deerfield when he suffered a medical emergency and his SUV veered out of control. Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating the crash.

At approximately 9:34 p.m. on May 23, Yosef Zion, 81, was traveling westbound on Hillsboro Boulevard when he experienced an undetermined medical event. His 1999 Mercury SUV veered across the eastbound lanes and rode up onto the southeast corner of N.E. 5 Avenue. The car then crossed N.E. 5 Ave and glanced off of a large tree before coming to rest against the hedge line of a home on the southwest corner.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported Zion to Broward Heath North where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Homicide Det. Morales at 954-321-4840 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
