BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton Fire Rescue says no one was injured in the spectacular tractor-trailer blaze that caused significant traffic problems Monday night in Boca Raton.
The incident occurred during the height of the evening rush on I-95 in the area of Glades Road. Fire Rescue provided this update midday Tuesday:
At 6:28pm on Monday, March 6, 2023, Boca Raton Firefighters responded to a tractor trailer on fire located on I-95 northbound near the Yamato Road exit in Boca Raton. Firefighters arrived and found a tractor trailer on fire. They immediately began to apply water to the fire to cool it down, while another engine began to apply foam for the leaking fuel.
Both saddle tanks on the truck ruptured, causing the diesel fuel to ignite. The trailer was loaded with food and there were no other hazards in the truck. The fire was put out in a few minutes and the scene was cleaned up. The roadway was turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol at 7:24pm. There were no civilian or firefighters injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
