Dale Yoder was found dead in a canal, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The man reported missing early this morning in West Delray Beach was found dead, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Dale Yoder, according to PBSO, walked away from the Inspired Living Assisted Living Facility in the 14000 block of Via Flora around 8:15 p.m. Thursday night. He had not been seen or heard from when PBSO issued an alert in the early morning hours.

After issuing the advisory, PBSO was called to the area of 14466 El Clair Ranch Road in Delray Beach where Yoder was found face down in a canal. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Apple Maps suggests that the path Yoder likely took was a 26 minute walk between the facility and the location where his body was found.

Mr. Yoder, according to PBSO, had been diagnosed with dementia. It was not immediately clear how he ended up in the canal. He was discovered by pedestrians.
