BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton Fire Rescue worked their highly-skilled magic Thursday night to battle a blaze inside a parking garage in Mizner Park. The garage is the garage at 300 Plaza Real which is the garage closest to the Mizner Park Amphitheater on the side closest to U.S. 1. BocaNewsNow.com thanks a contributor in the area for the photo and report from the scene.
Dispatchers received calls — apparently lots of calls — about a car smoking in the garage around 9 p.m., but couldn’t exactly identify where it was. Boca Raton Police and Fire Rescue workers all responded to the scene and, at first, also found locating the vehicle to be a challenge. But then found the smoking car on the first floor of the garage. They immediately started a fire attack operation. At one point, at least 13 Boca Raton Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the area.
The good news: firefighters had the situation under control in minutes. The other good news: it wasn’t an electric vehicle which can often burn for hours and cause huge amounts of ancillary damage. The bad news, at least for the owner of the car: images from the scene show there wasn’t much left by the time the fire was under control.
There was no word overnight about what caused the fire or whether other cars in the area sustained smoke or water damage. There are no reports of injuries. Expect part of that garage to inaccessible for at least part of the day as Mizner’s parking management company cleans up the scene.
