Thugs Assault, Rob Boca Man On Bike

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Beware: Thugs are out in Boca, and despite the best efforts of the police to stop crime before it happens, success is not always possible.

Case in point: the assault of a 48 year old man riding home after work near Mizner Park.

Read on for the details:

On Thursday, August 23, at about 10:40 p.m., Boca Raton Police officers responded to a report of a robbery that occurred a short time earlier near 200 NW 3rd Street.

The 48 year old victim told officers he left work on SE Mizner Boulevard and was riding his bicycle home. The victim was just east of NW 2nd Avenue on NW 3rd Street when a small, dark colored mini-van pulled around him and cut him off. A black male jumped out of the van and knocked him off of his bike. When the victim fell on the ground, several more males got out of the mini-van and kicked and punched him. The suspects ripped his wallet from his pants pocket and threw his cell phone away. The males got back into the van and left in an unknown direction.

The victim rode his bicycle home and then called police. The victim sustained abrasions, contusions, and lacerations. He was treated and released from Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

Wearing dark colored clothing
