Rob Lowe, star of TV and film and a cancer awareness advocate, will be thekeynote speaker at Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation’s 10th Anniversary Go PinkLuncheon on Friday, October 25, 2012. The event raises funds and awareness for the fightagainst breast cancer at the Hospital’s Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute.Lowe is a best-selling author and Emmy and Golden Globe nominee who currently appears inNBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” and previously starred in ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” and NBC’s“The West Wing.” He has also starred in feature films including “St. Elmo’s Fire,” “Wayne’sWorld,” “Tommy Boy,” the “Austin Powers” movies and many others in his decades-long career.He currently can be seen in “Behind the Candelabra,” HBO’s biopic about entertainer Liberace,and was recently cast as President John F. Kennedy for the National Geographic Channel’s“Killing Kennedy,” to be released later this year.Lowe is a noted advocate for breast cancer awareness and early detection. His mother died ofbreast cancer in 2003, and his grandmother and great-grandmother also died from the disease.Rob will share his very personal story and discuss how we can all make a difference in thebattle against breast cancer.The Go Pink Luncheon takes place October 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Boca RatonResort & Club. Tickets are priced at $150 and will go on sale August 26th. A variety ofsponsorship opportunities are now available. The Luncheon has been a sell-out for the past twoyears and is South Florida’s premiere women’s health event. It is the signature event for BocaRaton Regional Hospital Foundation’s Go Pink Challenge, a community-based initiative to raisefunds for breast cancer detection and diagnostic services provided by the Christine E.
