BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A Boca Raton woman crashed her Toyota Celica into a utility pole and died in a one car accident this morning in West Boca Raton.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that Wendy Starr Smith, 52, hit the pole in the area of Glades Road and Encino Drive. It happened around 4:40 a.m.
Investigators believe that Smith was not impaired and may have suffered a “medical episode” or that she fell asleep while driving.
No one else was injured.
