Deputy Shoots Man At Reflections Of Del Mar

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A night of sex by the pool led to a man being shot by an off duty PBSO deputy in West Boca overnight.

On Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 12:23 pm, an off duty deputy who lives in Reflections of Boca Del Mar, Boca Raton, entered the Reflections complex pool area when he encountered a male and female engaged in sexual activity. The off duty deputy approached the couple advised them, he is a deputy, and asked the couple, who does not live in the area, to leave the premises. They did so reluctantly. A short time later the couple returned. The male suspect approached the off duty deputy, who was sitting in a lounge chair, and hovered over him in a threatening manner. An altercation ensued. The male was holding a glass wine or champagne bottle in his hand, raised it up and attempted to strike the off duty deputy. The deputy fired his weapon striking the suspect. The suspect was taken to Delray Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
