BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — BocaNewsNow.com has confirmed that the teenager accused of soliciting sex on Craigslist met his mark at a Boca Raton gas station. The teenager — Brandon Hinck — police say later stabbed his victim during a sexual tryst in Broward County.
From the Broward Sheriff’s Office:
A 19-year-old male is in jail facing charges of attempted murder after stabbing a man who answered an ad on the internet soliciting a sexual tryst.
Employees at the Florida Beach Hotel in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea contacted Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, as they had a bloodied man standing in their lobby and a naked man covered in blood lying in an elevator. Responding BSO Lauderdale-By-The-Sea deputies helped unravel the sequence of events that led to the bloody scene.
Hours prior, Brandon Hinck, 19, posted a shirtless photo of himself on an internet site asking if someone wanted to meet him for a sexual encounter. Dave Sero, 46, a Washington resident vacationing in South Florida, responded to the ad and agreed to meet Hinck at a gas station in Boca. The two had lunch and then drove to the hotel in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. They walked up to the suspect’s hotel room and, once inside, they agreed to have sex. While the victim was naked on the bed, the suspect began stabbing him. A struggle ensued. During the altercation, the weapon was dropped inside the hotel room, but they continued struggling, eventually ending up locked out of the hotel room. The victim ran toward the elevator, while the suspect ran down the stairs.
The bloodied victim collapsed in the elevator, which leads to the lobby, and was found by hotel employees who called for help. Meanwhile, the suspect ran into the lobby and told the front desk attendant that he had just stabbed a man. The suspect had blood on his hands and body but was not injured.
The Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Volunteer Fire Rescue responded and American Medical Response treated and transported Sero to Broward Health North suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Hinck is believed to have arrived in South Florida a few weeks ago, staying briefly in an area halfway home and at a local rehab.
Anyone else who’s had a violent encounter with Hinck is asked to contact Violent Crimes Detective Eric Rodriguez at 954-321-4224 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
