Boca's Elad National Properties Helps Helping Hands

BHH Check  Presentation ELAD Mizner_121614BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Media Advisory) — South Florida real estate developer Elad National Properties this week presented Boca Helping Hands with a $2,500 contribution to help the needy this holiday season. Following the check presentation, Elad spent the morning volunteering in the organization’s kitchen and pantry preparing food, providing meals and cleaning up.
Elad’s contribution to will be matched 100 percent by an anonymous donor, who has agreed to match all unrestricted contributions to Boca Helping Hands made before December 31, up to $225,000.
“Boca Helping Hands is an organization that does so much good in this community, not just around the holidays but all year long,” said Elad National Properties Senior Executive Officer, Bill Shewalter. “When we heard about the fund-matching program, we figured what better way to make a contribution? It will go twice as far to meet the needs of families who don’t have enough to eat.”
Boca Helping Hands is a community resource center that serves a free hot lunch to under-employed and unemployed in the community six days a week, serves a Family Night Dinner on Thursdays, distributes pantry bags and provides financial assistance to Boca Raton Residents in times of crisis.  Boca Helping Hands has nine full-time employees and 300+volunteers committed to the mission to provide food and emergency assistance to meet basic human needs and long-term solutions to break the cycle of dependence.
“We currently hand out more than 6,000 pantry bags per month and serve several thousand more with our weekly hot meals,” said Boca Helping Hands Executive Director Jim Gavrilos. “Contributions like the one made by Elad are the life blood that keeps this center up and running 52 weeks of the year.
