Top Recognition For FAU's Research Park


BOCA RATON, FL ( (Media Advisory) — The 2014 Silver Excellence in Economic Development Award was recently presented to the ResearchPark at FloridaAtlanticUniversity. Crystal Stiles, Economic Development Project Manager, FPL, presented the award, noting that it was the second consecutive year the ResearchPark was recognized with this honor. The award was accepted by Bruce C. Rosetto, Board Chair and Andrew Duffell, President & CEO. The selection by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) was made from more than 560 international applicants.
Aerospace Technologies Group (ATG) is one of the many successful ResearchParkcompanies whose continuous growth helped contribute to the economic development award. A 30-year old online casino research and manufacturing company, ATG is again in the process of scaling up to increase manufacturing capacity through expansion within the ResearchPark.
“What distinguishes the ResearchPark,” said Simon R. Kay, ATG President and Chief Executive Officer, “is its relationship with FAU and other area universities. Through engagement with the universities, tenants here can rely on a continuous stream of academic talent and exchange of ideas.”
In 2015, the ResearchPark is celebrating its 30-year history of fostering startups and seeing them through various stages to become power houses in their fields of excellence.
