Florida Telecom Relay Opens New Center Serving Those With Hearing Loss

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (From FTRI) — Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI), the non-profit distributor of specialized telecommunications equipment for Floridians with hearing loss and speech disabilities, has opened a new distribution center in Palm Beach County at Audiology with a Heart, a non-profit center serving those with hearing loss, located at 2324 S Congress Ave, Suite 2G in Palm Springs, Florida.
At the distribution center, permanent Florida residents who are certified as having hearing loss or speech disabilities can easily obtain amplified telephones and other telecommunications equipment at no cost. The center offers free hearing tests to those who wish to qualify. In addition to the primary office in Palm Springs, Audiology with a Heart has convenient distribution centers through Palm Beach County in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Jupiter. For more information, call the center at 561-366-7219 or visit http://ftri.org/ps.
“Our mission at FTRI is to provide Floridians with hearing loss the best telecommunications products available so they can once again enjoy conversations and stay connected to their loved ones,” said FTRI Executive Director, James Forstall. “We are excited about our partnership with Audiology with a Heart and that this new distribution center in Palm Beach County will help us improve the lives of residents in the region who are struggling with hearing loss.”
FTRI estimates that more than 3 million Floridians experience some degree of hearing loss.
The expansion of distribution centers into additional Florida counties supports FTRI’s campaign, #KeepFloridaConnected – a social media campaign that aims to help Floridians stay connected to their families, friends, and communities and highlights the importance of conversations in the lives of those with hearing loss or speech disabilities.
