BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (From Federation) — The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is proud to announce that David Pratt has been elected as its new Vice Chair of Financial Resource Development. Pratt was elected at the Federation’s recent 2015 Annual Meeting. Among his many key volunteer leadership roles, David Pratt most recently served the Federation as Vice Chair of the Annual Campaign. Pratt is also the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Federation’s Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation.
A renowned estate planning attorney, Pratt is heavily invested in local charity work. He has established many charitable remainder and lead trusts, as well as private foundations, and has also served on many Planned Giving Committees of charitable organizations in Palm Beach County.
Pratt also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America, where he serves on the Planned Giving and Endowments Committee and as Chair of the Planned Giving Initiatives Committee of the Jewish Federation of North America’s Philanthropic Resources Development Cabinet. He is a past Chair of the Professional Advisory Committee of both the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Pratt is also a member of the Jewish National Fund’s Legal Committee, the Executive Committee of Professional Advisers for the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties and the Advisory Board of the Lymphoma Foundation.
Professionally, Pratt is a Fellow in the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, serves on its Board of Regents and is Chair of the New Fellows Steering Committee. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law and the University of Miami Law School, where he teaches in their L.L.M. programs. David also is a faculty member of the American Law Institute-American Bar Association. Pratt is also a commentator on Leimberg Information Services Inc., a well-known estate planning newsletter, circulated to many estate planning professionals across the country. He has published various articles in legal journals, and lectures extensively to other lawyers, professionals, and laypersons.
A graduate of the State University of New York, Albany, Pratt holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a LL.M from New York University School of Law. He and his wife, Dale, live in Boca Raton with their two children.
