BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com)(Source: Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County) — South Palm Beach county residents are invited to a program with Alan Dershowitz, the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard Law School who has been called “America’s most public Jewish defender” and “Israel’s single most visible defender – the Jewish state’s lead attorney in the court of public opinion.” (bio below)
On Thursday evening, March 24, 2016 at 7:30 pm, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County will present, free of charge, “A Conversation with Alan Dershowitz.” The program will be hosted by Congregation B’nai Israel, 2200 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, where doors will open at 6:45 pm.
The “Conversation” will focus on high-interest topics related to the State of Israel, including: Understanding and Addressing the Anti-Israel Movement, Prospects for Peace in the Middle East, and Preparing for Boycott, Divestment, Sanction (BDS) Rhetoric on the College Campus.
“Our diverse Jewish community cares and is deeply engaged, thirsting for knowledge and eager to hear perspectives on Israel,” said Matthew C. Levin, Federation President & CEO, who will moderate the evening. “It is essential that a community like ours stay abreast and continue learning to be part of the critical civil dialogue regarding our homeland, and our JCRC plays a vital role in this. We look forward to our discussion with Professor Dershowitz, including a stimulating Question and Answer session.”
“We once again are honored to host Professor Alan Dershowitz at Congregation B’nai Israel, and welcome guests from across the entire Jewish community for this in-depth program,” said Robert Silvers, the synagogue’s Senior Rabbi. “Together, we will learn, and gain valuable insight into the challenges that face Israel, which are of great concern to us all.”
The program is free of charge to the public, but RSVP is required at http://jewishboca.org/jcrcevening to register.
