Cell Phone At South Florida Polling Place? Absolutely Yes

News

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) —  Don’t believe security guards at area polling places claiming that cell phones must be turned off before entering.
Security is wrong. There is no ordinance prohibiting phones. Don’t let them tell you otherwise.
A supervisor at the early polling location at the West Boca Library on Saturday evening confirms: you can’t talk or take photos, but using your phone to look at your election list is no problem.
“They’re just security guards,” said the poll worker. “They really don’t know.”
A sign which appears to emanate from “printshop” circa 1987 displays a phone with a line through it — and security guards are pointing to the sign when challenged on the issue.
When in doubt, ask for the poll supervisor at the polling location.
