HURRICANE IRMA: FPL Optics Issue, Focuses On Shower, Not Power

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A live FPL briefing is underway (11:42am). The spokesman has just spent time speaking about showers for the crews on the ground, not actually providing a timeline for restoration for the more than 500,000 customers without power in Palm Beach County.
More than 19,000 workers are either working or preparing to work, he says, but nothing about a legitimate timeframe for turning the lights back on following what was a minimal hurricane, at best.
The good news: your linesman will be well showered before your power returns at some point.
UPDATE: 12:06pm — FPL managed to say absolutely nothing with substance during the winding, 30 minute news briefing. There is no schedule for restoration. The company appears to be in absolute controlled chaos.
