BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Source: Boynton Beach) (Source: City of Boynton Beach)– U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 54 will hold its next recreational boating safety class on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park boat ramp building at 2010 N. Federal Hwy., Boynton Beach, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Delray-Boynton Beach flotilla holds its class at the park on the fourth Saturday of the month.
Topics include, Introduction to Boating Law, Boating Safety Equipment, Safe Boating, Navigation, Boating Problems, Trailering, Storing, and Protecting Your Boat, River Boating and Hunting and Fishing boat related issues.
Class is $20 per person, which includes one course book or $50 for a family of three or more, which includes two course books. There is no charge for children under age 14. The fee for unaccompanied young adults under age 18 is $15, including the course book.
Florida law requires that persons born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, complete a National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) approved boater education course prior to operating a vessel powered by a motor of 10 horsepower or more. In addition, these individuals must carry their course completion card and a photo identification card while operating a powerboat or personal watercraft.
