BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Review) — Prezzo is a Boca name that dates back seemingly to the beginning of Boca Raton (which is widely believed to be somewhere around 1985). Thanks to the Rapoport Group — the name behind Henry’s, Deck8 and Burt and Max’s, the restaurant is back on Military Trail — just south of Yamato.
If you read no more, know this: Prezzo is a low key yet excellent Italian restaurant with great service and a diverse menu. It’s several steps up from “fast casual,” yet not Boca pretenitous nor “event” Italian dining which is how you might describe a restaurant like the quasi-new Louie Bossi (excellent, incidentally, but not a quick experience). Prezzo is its own brand. Quality food served by a wait staff that seems legitimately glad to serve you.
Prezzo is appropriate for a night out or a night out with the kids. On the latter, however, management seems to have a rare miss. There is no printed kids’ menu (kids love to have their own menu), and for an Italian restaurant, there is technically only one type of pasta available to kids (spaghetti) and there is no “normal” cheese pizza. (Your options are margarita — with noticeable tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, or a cheese-less pizza with cut up garlic on top). Both are great for adults, but it seems odd that Rapoport — which knows the Boca market — would have a minuscule, verbal-only kids menu without the simple staples one would expect on a menu for kids at an Italian restaurant. On the pasta issue, ziti with butter is available if you ask — but it’s not offered up as an option.
Kid issues aside — which we suspect will change — Prezzo is a great restaurant which will only get better as the initial kinks are worked out. The Lasagna, which we tried, was phenomenal. Fish looked great. The pasta was fresh an tasty. The breadsticks — a Prezzo staple — can’t be beat.
If you’re looking for excellent Italian food without a four hour wait, look no further than Prezzo at 5560 North Military Trail. The restaurant’s website states it’s on Open Table but we couldn’t find it — it may have been an Open Table glitch. If you can’t find, call for a reservation – 561-314-6840.

Bottom line: great restaurant, great pricing, great experience, great good. Enjoy!
