BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Steven Alan Randall, 64, a resident of the 17000 block of Whitehaven Drive in St. Andrews, is charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older after an incident that involved alleged drunk driving, a Jaguar driving the wrong way, cursing and physical violence.
From a PBSO police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com:
”On Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at approximately 2129 Hours, I was dispatched to 7247 Gateside Drive, Boca Raton, FL, 33496, subdivision of St. Andrews Country Club in unincorporated Palm Beach County reference to a battery in progress. Upon arrival, I met with St. Andrews Security Guard Carol Torres who, in a written sworn statement, advised that he got a complaint of a drunk driver, and observed a Jaguar bearing FL Tag HDZS95 driving the wrong way.
He followed the vehicle until he reached 7247 Gateside Drive. He then observed a subject who he recognized as Steven Randall approach the driver’s side of the vehicle he then opened the door. The driver called him an “asshole,” he then punched the driver with a closed fist. Randall then got back in his vehicle and fled the scene in a blue toyota. I then spoke with the victim who was visibly upset. In a written sworn statement she stated that Steven Randall punched her for no reason. I observed redness to the right side of her face which was consistent with her getting struck with a closed fist.
I then spoke with Randall over th e phone and he advised that after he left the clubhouse with (redacted), they got into an argument. (Redacted) asked him to stop by. He was with them at the clubhouse and he followed (redacted) home because she was driving drunk. When he arrived he stated that he only reached inside the vehicle to turn it off. Given the above facts there is probable cause to arrest Randall for battery on a 65 YEO contrary to F.S.S. 784.08(2)C. Randall did actually and intentionally touch or strike (redacted) against her will and did intentionally cause bodily harm to her. Randall was placed under arrest with his hands behind his back, handcuffs were double locked and checked for proper fit. He was transported to the county jail without incident.“
Randall was released on $3,000 bond. A court date is pending.
