Boca PD Investigating Carjacking

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Source: Boca Raton PD) — Detectives with the Boca Raton Police Department are investigating an armed carjacking and shooting that occurred just before midnight on Friday, February 23, 2018. The female victim and her friend were exiting the 7-Eleven at 1300 NW 2nd Avenue and walking toward their car. The victim reported she was approaching the driver’s side of her car when a black male exited the vehicle next to her and claimed she hit him with her door. The suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim. A shot was fired, striking the victim in the leg. The suspect proceeded to get into the victim’s Black 2017 Mazda CX5, FL tag ARZX39 and flee the scene, west on Glades Road. The suspect left a white Ford Edge SUV behind, which was reported stolen out of Deerfield on January 6th. The victim was transported to Delray Medical Center.

The suspect was described as a black male, late 20’s or early 30’s, 5’10”- 6’ tall, medium build, with a black shirt. If you have any information relevant to the investigation, please contact Detective Robert Volguardson at 561-338-1308 or Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS.
