BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Richie Incognito, a former offensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills, is in the midst of a “psychiatric hold” following what BocaNewsNow.com readers are calling a “bizarre freak out” at Lifetime Fitness.
Boca Police were called to the scene when Incognito allegedly threw a dumbbell at a man in the gym Wednesday morning.
Police did NOT arrest Incognito, but “Baker Acted” him — putting him under an involuntary psychiatric hold.
ESPN.com reports that Incognito announced earlier this year that he was retiring following 11 seasons in the NFL. He told the Buffalo News that he retired due to health issues.
”My liver and kidneys are shutting down. The stress is killing me,” he said.
On Monday, the Bills released him from their retired/reserved list, opening the way for him to return to the NFL.
