BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — We appreciate that when Brooklyn Water Bagel says it’s prepping for massive bagel orders for Yom Kippur, it’s almost assuredly talking about the “breaking the fast” part of the Jewish holiday — as opposed to suggesting that folks are being contrary and spending the day eating bagels instead of fasting and atoning. But either way, it’s impressive that one company is preparing to sell 50,000 bagels for any holiday, let alone one that’s anti-food.

The Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. has been the go-to source for bagels in South Florida (and beyond) for the past 11 years. In fact, last year the company sold nearly 50,000 bagels during the Yom Kippur holiday. This feat required more than 24 hours straight of mixing ingredients (including 5.5 tons of flour), forming the bagels and proofing them before boiling and baking at Brooklyn Water Bagel’s 18 locations.
