BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Florida Highway Patrol has charged Boca Raton resident Saleem Richard Ali of St. Andrews Blvd. and charged him with felony hit and run, failing to remain at the scene of a crash, and DUI.

Ali allegedly was involved in a serious crash on I-95 at Linton Blvd. Sunday afternoon. He allegedly fled the scene on foot. He didn’t get very far. FHP troopers — with the help of witnesses — located Ali off the grassy embankment at the Linton Road off ramp.

According to the FHP report, “I spoke to Mr. Ali, he stated (that) he was the one that got hit and that he wasn’t fleeing the scene of the crash… While speaking to Mr. Ali, I smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and his eyes were red and glossy.”
