Arrest Is Warning To All “New” Residents To Palm Beach County
UPDATE: Saturday, November 16, 2019 @ 11:20a: Tibbits was released from jail Friday night on $2000 bond. A family member tells BocaNewsNow.com that the arrest was a misunderstanding with police. but court records and copies of the actual tickets do confirm arrest, charges and bond status.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Stephanie Tibbits learned the hard way that if you’re ordered to appear in court, you need to appear in court.
Tibbits, 44, of 21717 Fall River Drive is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail Friday night (11/15/2019) following her arrest for not appearing in court to answer to charges that she has lived in Palm Beach County for more than 30 days without obtaining a Florida Drivers License, and also not registering her car.
Keep in mind, neither of these infractions is traditionally anything that would land you in jail. But if you get a ticket and are told to solve the problem or appear in court — and you do neither — you’re going to get yourself arrested. And court documents show that’s exactly what happened.
Tibbits is being held on $2000 bond.
Incidentally, the cost of a drivers license and registration: a few hundred bucks.
