CORONAVIRUS: Naples Zoo Closes

NAPLES, FL ( (Source: Naples Zoo Advisory – verbatim) — In accordance with public health precautions for larger gathering places and to add to our existing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Naples Zoo will temporarily close to the public at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, and will remain closed through March 31, 2020, at a minimum.

While the decision to temporarily close was very difficult for us, given that we realize we are a resource for thousands of students, families and individuals who benefit from the Zoo experience and its connections with wildlife, we based this decision on our commitment to our members, guests, volunteers, and community.

All of our animals will continue to receive the same superior care, veterinary care and enriching opportunities they always receive daily – a standard that is never compromised regardless of whether or not Naples Zoo is open to the public.

Our opening date will be reassessed and communicated on or before March 31. Updates will continue to be posted on our health and safety update on our webpage at

As always, we greatly appreciate the support of our community and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
