Our View: If you allow golf or play golf, you should be locked up. It seems the Sheriff agrees.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw deserves a pat on the back — from six feet away, of course — for calling out the area Country Club and private pool managers who believed they were exempt from the order to shut all golf courses and pools. The fact that Sheriff Bradshaw even had to announce that he would cite or “personally deliver a notice to appear” (in front of a judge) order to these people is pathetic. It confirms that the elitism in South Palm Beach County is out of control, and shows that there is still a portion of the population here that believes rules just don’t apply to them.
We know it sounds harsh, but if you contract Coronavirus and die because you just “had to golf” or “had to go for a swim,” you deserve it.

And if it’s later proven that you got other people sick because of your incessant need to golf, we hope they sue your estate and take everything you’ve ever had — depriving your family of your wealth which, of course, makes you so important that a Pandemic just doesn’t apply to you. (We all know COVID-19 just can’t get through the gates if it’s not on your list).
If you run a country club, a pool or an HOA, and enable people to make bad choices because you think your community is above the law, you deserve to be locked up. And we are thrilled to see that Sheriff Bradshaw won’t think twice about cuffing you. We will gleefully run your mugshot.
Coronavirus is real. Deaths continue in Palm Beach County and all indications are they will skyrocket this week. We live in a county known for the elderly. The fact that so many care so little about the elderly — and other vulnerable people in South Palm Beach County — is disgusting. If you believe you are above the law and that taking away your “golf rights” or “pool rights” is a violation of your civil rights, then you are no better than the murderers and the rapists who we truly hope become your bunkmates in the very elite Palm Beach County Jail.
