CORONAVIRUS: Temporary Relief For Local Testing Site

Coronavirus News

BOCA RATON, FL ( — The only official mobile testing site in Palm Beach County will again accept reservations, starting Thursday morning at 8 a.m. The site, in the 5400 block of Haverhill Road, opened Tuesday, but had to stop taking reservations on Wednesday when demand far exceeded supply. More 50,000 people attempted to make appointments when the call center opened Monday morning.

Palm Beach County just announced (7:40 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2020) that the call center will reopen on Thursday morning, as 1,000 test kits are being flown to Palm Beach County. Keep in mind, 1000 test kits won’t last long, but county officials seem thrilled that something is better than nothing.

Roughly 250 people were tested on the first day of testing. 392 patients were tested on Wednesday. More than 1,000 currently hold appointments. The call center is screening those requesting tests, and only those deemed to be in need of a test will get one.

If you believe you qualify for a drive-up test, call 561-642-1000 starting at 8 a.m. Thursday. And remember: you can not just “show up” at the testing site. If you do not have an appointment, you will be turned away.
