CORONAVIRUS: Gov. DeSantis Extends Mortgage, Eviction Relief

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has extended his executive order prohibiting evictions and foreclosures due to non-payment.

The extension now lasts until June 2nd.

While evictions are still legal for crimes or other issues, you ban on evictions for an inability to pay rent — or foreclosure of inability to pay your mortgage — continues.

Here is the official language from the State of Florida:

WHEREAS, Executive Order 20-94 expires on May 17, 2020, unless extended.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RON DESANTIS, as Governor of Florida, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Article IV, Section (1)(a) of the Florida Constitution, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, and all other applicable laws, promulgate the following Executive Order to take immediate effect:

Section 1. I hereby extend Executive Order 20-94 until 12:01 a.m. on June 2, 2020.
