BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Health inspectors from Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation were so concerned with the live and dead roaches found at an area frozen yogurt shop that they shut it down. The store was permitted to reopen several days later.
Yogurt Rendezvous is located at 7150 Beracasa Way in Boca Raton. (News app readers access our full report).
From the March 23rd report: “High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. 1 live roach in sink in kitchen 1 live roach at doorway from kitchen to front counter 3 live roaches under front counter.”
Also from the inspection report: “ Dead roaches on premises. 1 dead roach on shelves in dining room 1 dead roach behind reach in freezer in dining room 2 dead roaches on floor in dry storage room in the dining room 3 dead roaches on floor in dry storage room in the kitchen 5 dead roaches on the floor at the water heater Approximately 20 dead roaches behind reach in cooler in the kitchen Approximately 10 dead roaches under utility sink in kitchen.”
An inspector returned the following day and found more roaches. From the March 24th report:
“High Priority – – From initial inspection : High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. 1 live roach in sink in kitchen 1 live roach at doorway from kitchen to front counter 3 live roaches under front counter – From follow-up inspection 2021-03-24: 6 live roaches at grease trap in kitchen **Time Extended**”
On March 25th, an inspector again returned, but this time found the yogurt shop to be in compliance. The emergency order for closure was rescinded and Yogurt Rendezvous was permitted to restart operations.
