UPDATE: 12:57 p.m: No official word from FDOT, but cameras in the area indicate all lanes are open again on I-95 in Broward County.
UPDATE: 10:38 a.m: FDOT cameras show that I-95 remains closed in both directions, with a very active emergency scene due to the crash of a fuel truck at 2:45 this morning.
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 is completely shut as of 5 a.m. Monday due to a crash.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports that the crash involves a fuel truck and occurred just south of Atlantic Boulevard. The closure is northbound and southbound and spans Atlantic to Sample.
Copans Road, underneath I-95, is also closed. Fuel apparently spilled and must be cleaned up.
The Sheriff’s Office says the “cleanup is underway and could take some time. Please seek alternate routes.”
FDOT tells BocaNewsNow.com that crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. According to FDOT: “Traffic must exit at Atlantic Blvd. The southbound lanes are also closed at Copans Rd West, due to Emergency Vehicles. Traffic must exit Sample Rd. Use caution.”
