BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton Firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Clint Moore Road late Sunday and discovered not just a fire, but a cat trapped inside.

The cat was saved and while damage was significant, it could have been a lot worse according to first responders who said that the building’s sprinkler system helped immeasurably.

This is the official public report from Boca Raton Fire Rescue:

”On Sunday night, September 6, 2021, at 9:17pm, Boca Raton Firefighters and Paramedics responded to a structure fire in an apartment complex located at 3207 Clint Moore Road, in the Bocar community of Boca Raton. Firefighters arrived quickly to find the first-floor apartment filled with smoke.

The fire was contained to the living room area in the one apartment by the sprinkler system inside. The water damage was extensive but isolated to a single unit in the complex. All residents had evacuated prior to arrival of the Fire Department. The resident’s cat was rescued inside the apartment by Boca Raton Firefighters.

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The residence in the apartment were displaced for the evening and assisted by American Red Cross. The cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature but is still under investigation.”
