BREAKING: SWAT ON SCENE IN BOYNTON BEACH

UPDATE 7:40 AM Tuesday: From Boynton Beach Police: “Shortly before 1 a.m., detectives obtained a search warrant and SWAT entered the apartment. The man, identified as Fergino Demesmin, 32, of Boynton Beach was taken into custody without incident.

The incident began with a call to 911 at 7:26 a.m., by a woman who witnessed Demesmin assault another woman in front of two young children. When officers arrived at the scene, Demesmin refused to come out of the apartment.

Demesmin was charged with aggravated battery and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. The Department of Children and Families has been notified.

The woman received medical attention for her injuries.”

The police department just issued this advisory:

“Police are investigating a report of domestic violence in the 100 block of Northwest 10th Avenue. A man is believed to be inside an apartment with others, and he is unwilling to come out. Our Hostage Negotiation Team and SWAT are on scene. This is a developing situation, and we have no further information to provide at this time.”

Everyone is being asked to stay away from the area.
