DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There’s never a good age to be charged with drinking and driving. That’s the message being sent by Delray Beach Police with the arrest of 76 year old Judy Baum Herman.
Herman, of Kings Point in Delray Beach, was stopped by police around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 2500 West Linton Boulevard. That’s not far from the I-95 interchange. Herman was apparently driving the wrong way.
While the arrest report continues to be processed, citations reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com reveal that officers cited her with “driving on the wrong side of the road, must drive upon right half.” Why was she driving on the wrong side of the road? Alcohol may be a factor. She is additionally charged with DUI. Police wrote, however, that “volume was not met” when she provided two breath samples. That means the breathalyzer machine did not have complete samples when it allegedly registered a .129. The legal limit in Florida is .08.
Judy Baum Herman was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 4:03 a.m. Thursday. She was released on her own recognizance at 10:22 a.m.
A court date is pending.
