BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Delray Beach resident Justin Woll is facing two “battery on an officer” charges after he allegedly got into a tussle with Boca Raton cops following an incident at a Mizner Boulevard bar.
The following is the narrative written by one of the police officers involved in the incident that landed Woll in the Palm Beach County Jail:
“On 1/8/2022 at approximately 0000 hours I responded to 187 SE Miner Blvd (The Standard) in reference to a disturbance.
While en route, dispatch advised a white male was causing a disturbance inside of the establishment. Upon arrival, I briefly made contact with one of the bouncers who advised a white male later identified as Justin Woll was causing
a disturbance inside. I observed Woll walking away from the establishment and made contact with him to speak about the incident. Woll seemed intoxicated while speaking with officers on scene.
Officers attempted to help Woll get a ride home from his girlfriend so he would not continue to cause disturbances in the area. While speaking with Woll, he began to become aggressive and then after officers would tell him to calm down, he would stop. Woll then approached Officer Felix and stated, “you’re gonna wish these guys…” and then struck Ofc. Felix in the bottom lip with his cell phone in hand.
Myself and Ofc. Felix then escorted Woll to the ground. I grabbed his right arm while Ofc. Felix grabbed his left arm and then attempted to place handcuffs on Woll. Woll began to tense his arms and the handcuffs got caught on his long sleeve shirt. After getting the handcuffs untangled from his shirt, he was secured in handcuffs, searched, and placed in the back of my marked BRPD patrol vehicle. Due to the above facts. Justin Woll will be charged with 784.07 (1D) Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and 843.02 Resisting an officer without violence. He was transported to BRPD and shortly after transported to County Jail without incident.”
Woll was booked into jail at 3:02 Saturday morning. He was released on his own recognizance at 1:58 p.m. A court date is pending.
