TRAFFIC HAVOC: Quick Look At Upcoming, Ongoing Boca Raton, Delray Construction

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Driving in the winter in South Palm Beach County is often challenging. Snowbirds — who have no idea where they’re going or how to get there — clog the streets while the Florida Department of Transportation uses the cooler months to get work done.

Here is a list of ongoing or upcoming construction projects in the area.

LOCAL ROADS

Northbound North Federal Highway between Southeast 9 Street and Southeast 7 Street, in Boca Raton, 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Monday, Oct. 05 extended through Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2 of 3 lanes closed, for building material loading delivery.

Westbound Glades Road between Boca Ridge Drive and 95 Avenue South, in Boca Raton, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Monday, Dec. 06 through Friday, Jan. 14, 1 of 3 lanes closed, for removal and installation poles. 

Eastbound and Westbound NE Spanish River Boulevard between US 1 and North Ocean Boulevard, in Boca Raton, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24 to Friday, Jan 28, 1 of 4 lanes closed for bridge work. 

Westbound East Atlantic Avenue between Northeast 7 Avenue and Federal Highway, in Delray Beach, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Monday, Jan. 03 through Friday, Jan. 28, 1 of 2 lane closed, for foundation backfill.

Southbound South Ocean Drive at Del Haven Road, in Delray Beach, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Wednesday, Jan. 05 through Friday, Jan. 28, 1 of 5 lane closed as needed, for concrete pole installation.

Southbound South Ocean Drive at Del Harbour Drive, in Delray Beach, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Wednesday, Jan. 05 through Friday, Jan. 28, 1 of 1 lane closed as needed, for pole maintenance.

Northbound North Federal Highway between Atlantic Avenue and Southeast 1 Street, in Delray Beach, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, Monday, Jan. 10 through Friday, Jan. 14, 1 of 1 lane closed as needed, for road coarse installations and final details.

The outside northbound lane from Old Germantown Road to Linton Boulevard may be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday for installation of temporary pavement markings and widening of the outside shoulder. Please note, work hours will occur during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During this time, a flagging operation will be used to direct traffic northbound and southbound. Pedestrian detours will be clearly marked. 

I-95

I-95 will have up to four lanes closed in each direction nightly, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 9:30 p.m., and the third and fourth lane will close at 10 p.m.

I-95 southbound from Spanish River to Glades Rd is in a new traffic pattern with traffic shifted to the outside to allow for median construction, through February 2022.

I-95 northbound from Yamato Road to Linton Boulevard is in a new traffic pattern with traffic shifted to the outside to allow for median construction, through February 2022.

I-95 northbound lanes, from Glades Road to Yamato Road, are shifted to the outside to allow for median construction, through February 2022.

CLINT MOORE ROAD BRIDGE

The Clint Moore Road bridge over I-95 is closed completely for reconstruction through summer 2022. Westbound traffic is being detoured via NW 2ndAvenue, Yamato Road and Congress Avenue. Eastbound traffic is being detoured via Park of Commerce Boulevard, Congress Avenue, Yamato Road and NW 2nd Avenue. Local neighborhood access is maintained; only the approaches and bridge over I-95 are closed.
