New York Man Killed In Delray Beach Crash, Drove Under Semi

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Hempstead, New York man is dead following a horrific crash on State Road 7 in Delray Beach. A woman in the car with the same last name was also critically injured.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that Dennis Ferguson, 71, was driving southbound on State Road 7 and neglected to see a Freightliner Tractor Trailer in the intersection that he was approaching around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Ferguson “went under the truck and came to a final rest at the collision site.” Ferguson was pronounced dead on the scene. His passenger, Stephany Ferguson, 72, was transported to Delray Medical Center in critical condition. They both list 20 Sunnyside Avenue in Hemptstead as their home address.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The accident scene is identified as 14095 South State Road 7 which is by Pero Farms, between Atlantic Avenue and Boynton Beach Blvd.
