BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man remains behind bars in the Palm Beach County Jail Thursday morning following his arrest by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for animal torture.

While the arrest report continues to be processed, the jail tells BocaNewsNow.com that Nicholas Amatrone is officially charged with “torture, inflict pain, (cause) serious physical injuries or death” to an animal. Amatrone was taken into custody just after noon on Wednesday.

Amatrone, 37, lists the 1100 block of NE 3rd Avenue in Boca Raton as his home address. He was arrested in 2019 in Palm Beach County on a warrant from California. He was accused of insurance fraud. The disposition of that case was not immediately clear Thursday morning.
