UPDATE: 7:46 PM — Two adults, one teen dead. Crash involved sedan and tractor-trailer.

UPDATE: 4:53 PM — Seven pediatric patients and five adult patients.

UPDATE: 3:37 PM — U.S. 27 is now shut down.

UPDATE: 3:34 PM — This is a multi-car crash with several pediatric patients.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) (3:10 p.m.) — A major mass casualty incident is underway on U.S. 27 just north of the Palm Beach County line.

We are awaiting official word from police and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue but can report that multiple patients are being airlifted to Delray Medical Center and North Broward Medical Center. At least three medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene. All patients being airlifted are pediatric patients.

U.S. 27 is in the Everglades and runs north/south between Broward County and Palm Beach County.
